The KINGDOM RESORT was born after a trip made some years ago by Catherine, originally from Padova (Italy).
She was fascinated by the beauty of the island and its inhabitants. Thus the desire to create the Kingdom Resort project was born, so that after a year, it began to be built with the celebration of the ceremony of laying the first stone.

The Kingdom Resort is located on the south coast of the island, in the village of Kottegoda about 15 km from Matara.

The structure is simple, consists of 8 rooms with bathroom and a balcony where you can admire the magnificent colors of the sea and surrounding nature. The Kingdom Resort is away from any noise and is surrounded by a thick forest of palms and tropical plants where various types of birds and animals such as monkeys and squirrels are present.

Apart from the rooms there is a common area where we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with panoramic garden and seaview. Although you will find local staff in place, the Kingdom has both Italian imprint on management for the kitchen. For our dishes fresh local produce are used but also some products imported from Italy such as olive oil, pasta and espresso.

The Kingdom is located along a beach 2.5 km in length, where besides long walks, you can meet women from nearby villages working the fiber of the coconut after leaving it soak for a period of time under the sand. It’s very hard work and wages are low but nevertheless they always have a smile to give. Also you can see at night (in some seasons) the performance of turtles that climb the beach to lay their eggs in Kingdom Resort.

The Kingdom is dedicated to all those people who want to enjoy the true tranquility in Sri Lanka, respecting the nature and culture of the people taking the opportunity to relax.
